Indigenous project

We were asked to do a project about the Inuit people. In the project, we had all sorts of things. The Inuit are indigenous people who have inhabited North America’s and Greenland’s Arctic regions for thousands of years. Their traditional way of life, deeply rooted in hunting and gathering, has allowed them to thrive in one of the harshest environments on Earth. My part was to talk about what they traded.  The Inuit traded with Europeans, primarily exchanging furs, baleen, soapstone, and ivory for weapons, ammunition, tobacco, coffee, tea, sugar, and flour. we also had to write a bibliography. And also interesting facts like:

The Inuit made armor from walrus teeth.

Many Inuit people believed that the spirits of their ancestors could be seen in the Northern Lights.

A member of the Inuit people is called an Inuk.

Paths were marked with a pile of stones called an inuksuk to mark areas and keep from getting lost.

Kayaks, snowshoes, and snow goggles are all Inuit inventions. My favorite part of the project was the Inuit language. The Inuit language is Inuktitut.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

When someone Jewish Is 12/13 they become the son/daughter of the commandments, which means they are responsible for their own. Tefilin and tallit are very important because God commanded the Jewish people to wear them. While learning about the bar/bat mitzvah what I found interesting is learning what is inside of the tefillin.

Innovation Day Reflection

Hi guys I’m gonna talk about my Innovation Day Reflection.

first of all, when I started building I was super nervous I thought it would be horrible but after a little time, I realized it was pretty good. My friend and I built a drone with 4 propellers 4 little engines 2 popsicle sticks and 3 batteries after we finished the drone I was very surprised and impressed by the process we made and we had a lot of time left so we decided to also build a car we had 2 engines and 4 wheels but after we finished the car we realized the car could not drive we tried another 2 times to build the car but they both did not work so we had to give up. then we tried the drone on the first try but it didn’t fly so we built a drone that flew on the ground and we called it a floor glider.

Canadian Identity Blog Post

So far I learned from Social Studies a lot for example what special organizations like the Red Cross and more.

  What makes Canada diverse?

Living in a diverse country is good because you can see different things. For example, you can see the ocean, lakes, waterfalls, and rivers. These are all beautiful and there are a lot to choose from. If there weren’t so many choices, it would be boring and very full of people. When you have a large country like Canada, the differences in people are good because you can meet a lot of types of people. People come to Canada from around the world and teach people about themselves, their family, and their country. Everyone sees the world differently which can make you closer.

What symbols come to mind when you think of Canada?

Almost every time I think of the maple leaf tartan which I also did a project about it in Social Studies and talked about it.

International organizations are really important for example the Red Cross. The Red Cross helps people all around the world, especially during an emergency.
